Outdoors

This weekend I finally planted some flowers in my arbor.I still want to do more .I also was inspired to paint my picnic table. Hubby wasn't thrilled about painting the table.To me it looked to shabby and it is only 1 yr old.I love the "shabby chic" look but it was missing the "chic" part so I painted the top and the seats pink!!!! I love it!!!! The side yard is coming together slowly but surely!!!!!

Bedroom Decor

I just bought new bedding for our master bedroom.The room is finally coming together.We have painted this room 3 times.The first time it was a blue(almost periwinkle)with a lighter blue ceiling.The second time it was a lavender and after a month my hubby hated it!!!The third time we chose a darker purple almost orchid color.We really love it!!! I finally painted the ceiling as well.It is a taupe color. I really love my new bedding.It is chocolate brown and has some purple in it. My curtains are a chocolate brown color as well. I am planning on buying a new bedroom furniture set but it won't be for a while!!!! Here are a few pictures of the bedding!!!

Closing Day

Today we are finally closing on our refinance nightmare!!!! It was supposed to go pretty fast but a lot of drama was involved.Two appraisors fighting over the price our house is worth.In the end we will save SOME money on our mortgage payment .Our house insurance and taxes are included and before they weren't(our current mortgage).We will still keep working on our home
and when the market improves I know our house will be worth more!!!!!

Career Day

Today my husband and I were speakers for Career Day at an elementary school.A client of ours asked us to be one of the speakers and talk about our line of work.I am sure you all know by now we are hairdressers!!! We spoke to eight classes of fourth and fifth graders (28 in each class).Each session lasted twenty minutes.It was a lot of fun.We tried to get the kids involved by first working on two models(pre-chosen kids by our client)from each session and then having their classmates take turns with the techniques we demoed.We were so happy that
both the boys and girls enjoyed our presentation!!!!!! I don't usually like to speak in front of people(in a group setting) so this was a big accomplishment for me!!!! I told myself that this experience was good practice ,you never know what the future will bring!!!!

Arbor

We finally installed the arbor.We still need to screw in a few more screws but it is good to go.Disregard the fence.We still need to replace!!!!!I wanted to start replacing the panels but now my minivan is not working again and I refuse to carry anything on the roof of our other cars!!!! I really would like to start buying flowers but it is still chilly where I live.I think I will have to wait until June.The arbor will look so pretty when the plants and flowers are in place.I will take more pictures after I add the flowers.

Sunday projects

I am on my way to Menards! We are going to install my arbor w/gate that was my Mother's Day present.(I have been carting around this huge box in the mini ivan for over a month and a half) I hope it doesn't rain today so we can finish the job.I will post the before and after pictures tomorrow!!!!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!!

Toronto trip

I wasn't able to bring my camera with on our trip to Toronto but my hubby took some pictures with his phone.We stayed at the Fairmont hotel and it was so beautiful!!!! We had a blast there!!! Our trip was too short.I would love to visit again.Here are some of the pictures.

Yummy Chocolate!!!!

I painted my entrance hallway a yummy chocolate brown color.I am so loving it!!!!!I wish it was a larger space but I will paint another room chocolate brown when I get the chance.Here are pictures!!!

Painting again!!!!

Our refinance loan was screwed up.So we somehow needed another appraisal . Apparently the underwriter for our loan called for a second appraisal because we lived across the street from a church!?! The second appraiser did a "drive by appraisal" and said our house was worth 20,000 less than the first appraisal .There was an argument between the appraisers and the bank went with the lower one.So,last week the second guy had to inspect our house on the inside.I painted the hallway entrance so everything would be picture perfect. The appraiser seemed surprised with all the work we did on the house.I sent him off with a list of everything we fixed/improved on the house.We are not sure if he is going to change his opinion about the price since there was all that arguing from before. Anyway for the type of loan we are getting we can not have any chipped paint on the exterior of our house . There are only a few spots but that is more painting we have to do ASAP.So that is what we will be doing today.

Prom 2008

This was the first prom dance my older kids went to .It was exactly one week apart from each dance.We have been shopping,shopping and shopping .Because I told the story(to family) about how my prom date was cheap my hubby says he is paying the price!!!!(two times over) LOL !!!! OF course I over spent !!!!! My kids are homeschooled so the one thing people threw in our face years ago was the question"what about prom?" Well I am happy to say they DID get to go to a prom.(probably one of many to come) So here are some photos!!
