Halloween Baby Shower

This is breaking news to my blog,we are going to become grandparents again very soon!!!! My oldest son Tristan and his girlfriend Marta are having a baby Oct.10 or so. We wanted to throw them a baby shower and since they live with my dad in Chicago we had the shower at grandpa's house. This is the house that I grew up in.It is a Chicago brick bungalow. Most of the city has versions of these homes. The kids decided we should have a Halloween theme since it will be an October baby and Tristan has always loved Halloween(he trick or treated until he was like 18 with his younger brothers, lol)!! So the boys and I made a lot of the decorations and we bought a lot of different items and used some of our Halloween Stash.I bought a blowup Hello Kitty(at the end of the season last Halloween) to put up in the front of the house. We thought it would look cute for the shower day so everyone would know the "party house". The boys and I went the Friday before and cleaned and rearranged my dad's house and decorated. The party was on a Sunday and we went early to finish the prep work.Chicago,Il is about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Kenosha,Wi(depending on traffic).Luckily we arrived on schedule and the party was a success!!! My friend Maureen made the baby shower cake and the boys and I made cupcakes. One thing I have learned is that it is definitely harder to throw a party at someone else house and in another state!!! I am still recouping and it is 4 days later, lol!!! Here are some photos of the party..

Trick or Treat!!!!

This is the last post of Halloween 2013!!!!! I mentioned before that our town Trick or Treats on the Sunday before Halloween but this year changed it to Oct.31 Halloween Day. We ended up having a Halloween party on Sunday for the kids and it was a fun filed day!!! Well on Thursday the weather was horrible!!!! It poured most of the day and by night time it slow down for the trick or treating but was still very wet.We went any way.The kids are good sports and I even dressed up since I had a costume already!!!!! We trick or treated with Paloma and baby Weston. Hubby was at work so he missed out.We lasted about two hours but then it started pouring on us so we came back home. Here are photos of the kids and Paloma .My favorite part is looking at the gorgeous houses where we trick or treat.

Halloween projects!!!!

So we have been super busy here..I don't know where all the time goes.Me and the boys started decorating the inside of our home for our favorite holiday Halloween!!!!! Yes,it is one of my favorites. We have a pretty big collection of decorations( I buy stuff at the end of the holiday when it is on sale). We usually incorporate some home made decorations every year.It becomes part of our art class project for our homeschool as well. Today we made victorian apothecary potion bottles .I already had all the bottles and we found labels to print from pinterest. We also had the spray glue so this was a free project!!!!!! It was a simple fast project especially for boys!!!!! We added water and food coloring to one of the larger jars and the boys added plastic eyeballs to have float around. Super scary!!!!! A few nights ago we did another Halloween project that is my hubby's favorite. We made taffy apples. Now this one is super messy. We add alot of crushed up candy and the carmel is super sticky, but the boys have a great time with it.I had fun taking photos while we were creating and making a mess!!!!! Here are the photos.

Halloween fun!!!!!

Last night I participated in a Thriller Dance.I have always loved that video and wanted to learn the dance.A group of people all different ages learned the dance to perform . We were all dressed up like zombies,it was so cool( I am the school girl zombie in the pink skirt)!!!!! We had a large audience in downtown Kenosha watching( my boys, hubby and Paloma were my biggest fans).I have never done anything like this before. My Zumba instructor coordinated the dance and I am definitely glad I did it. It was out of my comfort zone !!!!! I consider myself shy so I needed a little push from hubby to participate, lol!!! Here are photos
from last night . Today was our official "Trick or Treat Day".It was bitter cold outside (and last night too) . We trick or treated for a while (until we froze)and ended off the day at a Halloween party . I dressed up like Marie Antoinette today and my boys dressed up as a King and a Knight
. I found a cool wig too match a costume I bought a few years ago.I went from a zombie to a beauty queen overnight!!!! We had a full weekend. We get to dress up all over again on Halloween since we are having a small party for the kids!!!
