Happy New Year!!!!!

We had a very mellow New Year's Eve,we were exhausted from working (doing hair) earlier in the day.We did get to eat some fabulous food in the evening!!!!! We bought thai food from our favorite Thai rester aunt!!! Yummy!!!!That was a good way to end 2011.Looking through my blog at the projects we did in 2011 has been fun!!! I mostly did a lot of furniture makeovers.Many paint projects, most important was finishing the exterior of our house that we started last year.I also painted the front porch(I had wanted to repaint it for years!!!!! We redid electrical in our main bathroom(it started when I wanted a new outlet installed for my electric fireplace heater). In the summer we made our garden more functional and beautiful by adding pea gravel.We also put up my wrought iron arbor in the back leading to the garden.Back inside I added an apothecary wall unit in the kitchen for organization.The biggest project that was in the planning for years was adding a driveway gate!!!! That to me was one of the biggest things that we did (we also redid the fence on one side of the house) beside painting the exterior.Our house is looking complete!!!! I am thankful for what we have been able to accomplish in 2011 but am looking forward to 2012!!!!!

We had a really nice New Years Eve!!!! Trent had to work during the day so I cleaned the house and picked up our groceries for the evening.I also picked up some craft items to make our party hats!!!!! It is something fun for the kids to do during our little party!!!! We bought shrimp and lobster tails to make for dinner. Here are photos of the kids making their hats.

  Our daughter came over and made some hats too. We had a great time ,we also made some dream boards with our goals for 2011!!!! Hope everyone has a Happy 2011!!!!!!

Finishing touches!!!!!

I have been working on finishing some last details from the projects we took on this year.Mostly the kitchen,my hubby added the tin to the side of the copper sink that is exposed and I painted the cabinet edges that showed.The last thing to do is add more tin to the top section where the faucet is.It looks so much better!!!! Also I started a photo project I blogged about in April 2008.Hard to believe I never did it(I did start enlarging the photos but never actually hung them).I finally put up sepia photos that I enlarged on our stairway!!! The xmas photos of the boys inspired me!!!! I am now on a mission to find cool frames.Life sometimes gets in our way of the things we want to do, but I do feel inspired knowing they get done eventually!!!! Tonight we are having a small little New Years Eve party with our younger boys!!! We are cooking sea food and having a bunch of snacks ,very low key but plan on having fun!!!
