Relaxing

I am finally in my bed relaxing and trying to recoup. I have been reading other people's blogs and I decided I better start writing in my own!!!!!!! As far as house projects go the only thing I have done this week is work on the basement wall. When it rains we get water in a corner of the basement,so I started waterproofing the wall and floor.I ran out of the cement (of course)so I have to get over to Menards to buy some more. I have been asking Trent to go with me but so far it hasn't happened. We haven't been inspired to work on the house lately.I get inspired when I read other peoples'blogs.I love seeing what everyone is doing to their house. Next week my kids get spring break so I am going to try and finish some of the painting. I have so many ideas and so little time!!!!!! Also our camera stopped working ,hopefully it only needs batteries.I am posting Happy pictures from the beach (summer 06) to make me feel better!!!!!!!!

Spring day

Today was so beautiful!!!!! The weather was 71 degrees here in Wisconsin.I live close to Lake Michigan ( It takes 10 minutes to walk there). It reminded me why I live here.If you asked me 3 weeks ago I would have told you I hate it here ,it is soooooo cold!!!! LOL!!!! I love to walk by the lake and look at the houses that have the Lake view. There are a few I would definitely upgrade to but I really love the house we are in.I am from Chicago and there is NO WAY we could afford to live 10 minutes from the lake if we were still there.I am thankful for what I have .I do think I would LOVE to have a winter house somewhere else though. We went to North Carolina and really fell in love with the mountains.I did see some Victorian houses that were very cool. Our next house has to have more land than we have currently. AS of now our garage takes up most of our yard. Which is alittle sad because we do not even put our cars in it.It could be
converted to a cool studio but that is a whole other story.....

Saturday Afternoon

I should be working but I had a slow day so I came home. I am waiting for my hubby to finish work so we can take our kids to Frank's Diner. It is a landmark here in Kenosha,WI.This cool diner is in an old railroad car(which is now a building built around it.) It is a fun place to eat.The owners have become friends of ours so it makes it an even better.I am really excited for them they are going to be on the food network.Trent and I cut & color their hair ,so now we will have celebrity clients. How fun!!!!! All this talk about food is making me hungry!!!!!! Ciao!!!!!

Tin ceiling

Last year around this time we put up a tin ceiling in one of the bedrooms.I always wanted one. When we purchased our house this room(bedroom) had a hole in the ceiling and basically the whole ceiling was pretty bad. Here is a picture of the ceiling.I LOVE It!!!! This room happens to be my 17 yr old son's room. He has the fanciest room in the house!!!! Luckily he has a good sense of style. He likes antiques, collectibles ,etc. We still have to put up molding.Hopefully we can get back some motivation for projects!!!!! I would love a tin ceiling in the kitchen as well!!!!!

My couch

I wrote about my victorian couch in my last post and wanted to post pictures but I went away for 4 days and my dogs chewed the cushions. It wasn't too bad but I was in one of my throw everything out modes for good feng shui. Not to worry I had another couch in a different room ,this one is more Pottery barnish. It looks good.I rather have an antique couch . Oh well, for now it will do!!!!!! I will try to get back to finishing up my projects. We have been sidetracked with family drama. Hopefully we are over the hump.
