Front porch

I am very slowly painting my front porch. This area has been an eyesore for a few years now!!!!! We store our firewood in the winter here and any furniture I am redoing and working on. I gave our daughter our old bed (which was on the porch) so now that it is gone I can really finish this project!!! My plan is to paint the ceiling, walls and trim and then I will order my porch swing that I have wanted since we bought this house 7 years ago. Also I will paint the floor and buy a cute outside rug . Well, that is the plan...... I do have some anthropology -ish accessories waiting to show you . That is my inspiration for this make over!!!!!

New treasures!!!!

Well, it is that time of year to get ready for school again!!!! I am slowly getting organized. Yesterday, I happened to stop in the goodwill near our home. I had a feeling there was something meant there for us!!!!! I found two vintage style school desks,we homeschool so I thought maybe they would help us stay on task(hopefully) and well, I just love anything vintage. At first I only bought one but went back to get the second larger desk. I was excited to see that I had "collected " a photo previously and it had one of the desks in their vintage kitchen. I put them in our dining room/study/parlor. They look really cute there and we are close to the lockers and computer so slowly but surely we are getting organized. Here are photos....

Decoupage

I rearranged my kitchen to find a spot for my little yard sale table a few weeks ago. I had to put this cool pink metal cabinet( that used to be a weird yellow) in a different spot to make room for the redo table. For now it is next to my copper sink but once we build the pantry it will go in there. SO this brings me to my project. I decided to decoupage old pages from a vintage song book. It has the cutest pictures on it. I used Mod P

odge to glue it to the back side of the metal cabinet. Here are the photos.....Furniture Feature Fridays

Playing outside!!!

I found a left over piece of an unfinished fence in our garage and decided to paint it pink!!!!! I put it behind a flower/herb garden I have created this year. It looks so cheerful!!!! Finally our outside is coming along. After years of working on the inside of the house(almost done)it is nice to see the progress outside. I also repainted our picnic table. Originally it was painted light pink but a few years of Wisconsin winters had peeled all the paint off (even protecting it with a varnish). So I used the same pink that I painted the fence but this time I painted the table pink and off white!!!! It looks really cute ,just hope it doesn't peel off again!!! LOL!!! Here are a few photos......

Yard sale redo!!!!!

On my way home from running errands Sat. morning ,I stopped by a yard sale that was down the street from me. Of course I stopped by and bought the first thing I saw. A cute little table that someone had stripped the paint off already. I loved how it looked already but there was a circle mark on the top. I knew right away what I would do!!!!!! I bought watermelon pink spray paint from Hobby Lobby and sprayed the top. I couldn't remember what the drawer pulls looked like but I spotted the perfect pink ones at Hobby Lobby while I was there. I didn't buy them but when I got home and saw the knobs unscrewed I had to go back later and buy them!!!!!!

I put the cute little table in my kitchen and I LOVE IT!!!!! Here are photos.... I am linked at

stools

I have been "collecting" stools for our kitchen table/island. It is really an industrial work table that might be in workroom/garage. When we bought it we wanted something narrow and sturdy and that would look cool(we actually found a new one and I actually put it together!!!).It is extremely sturdy and I have been on the hunt for stools for it for a while. I now have 4 different kinds of stools gathered from garage sales and one came from the goodwill store. I have painted them all different shades of blue but the one I found this Sat. at a yard sale almost matched one I had , I painted my stool a tiffany blue and distressed it a while ago. So now that I found another similar one I painted it the same tiffany blue. I love how they look.

Beach walk

We live only a five minute drive from the beach and today was the first time we actually went all summer(hard to believe)!!!!! The beginning of June was cold and wet here in Wisconsin and then July snuck up on us and it was too hot!!!!!! Now we are in August and we finally are having nice weather. I took the boys and we just went on a beach walk. I am determined to start going daily with the boys and enjoy it before it gets cold!!!! I love being around water. Our dream is to move to Maui, Hawaii one day. While we were there the boys played at the little park and I took some photos. Here they are at the beach park.
