Birthday party
Last Sunday we went to a friend's daughter's birthday party.We have been so busy lately it is almost ridiculous!! It was a nice family outing and I love an excuse to dress up. I woke up early to wash,dry and style my hair but the weather was so hot and humid ,my hair just fell flat.Don't you hate when that happens!?! Oh well ,at least my outfit was perfect in the heat.It was a fun party for the boys and this year they got their face painted.The girl who painted the kids faces was so patient and everyone turned out great!!!! I am looking forward to July because we have a few weekends off from work and I hope we can relax and enjoy the summer.Here are photos from Sunday.

Strawberry picking!!!!
We finally went strawberry picking!!!! This is the first time we went to a pick any fruit and it was so much fun!!!!! We really don't live far from the strawberry farm and have past it a million times. My husband finally said we should go pick strawberries!!!! we have been eating more fruit lately so it made sense to pick the fruit we are eating. We took the boys ,their friend Jacob and our daughter Paloma and her family.We ended up picking 7 boxes of strawberries so everyone took some home to their families.My boys had so much fun and I did too!! It was actually addictive .It was hard to stop picking once your box was full,lol!!! We went yesterday and at first it was raining but once it cleared up the farms website said they were open for picking.They laid straw over the mud so you didn't get too dirty but Paloma and her baby were all covered in mud!!! My hubby wore flip flops and got stuck in a few places.It was an adventure and the whole family wants to go again.I came home and washed two boxes of strawberries and froze them for my protein shakes.We still have two huge boxes to snack on so that is a lot of strawberries.We will definitely go back before the season is over.here are a few photos of the day at the farm.

Baby Weston"s First Birthday Party
We had baby Weston"s first birthday party at our house in April. Paloma our daughter came and decorated.The theme was "Cars".Weston loves the cartoon movies and of course loves cars!!!! It was very colorful and festive!!! Once again I was able to use my antique silver punch bowl .This time it was filled with blue raspberry "windshield fluid" punch!!!!! There were alot of treats for the kids and adults.Overall a great party and Weston had a blast!!!! Here are photos of the big day...

Laptop fixed!!!!
So I finally have my laptop fixed !!!!! I noticed that I haven't blogged since it crashed ,it just wasn't in the budget to get it fixed.I have an ipad and a desktop but for some reason it is easier to write from my laptop!!!! We have been doing a lot around here with projects some planned and some "emergency" as in pipes leaking ,water all over dining room projects.I left off my last post with painting the kitchen cabinets.I am happy to report I love how they turned out!!! Who knew paint and new hardware would upgrade the look of the kitchen so well!!!!
I suspected they would but seeing is believing!!! I only have photos from my instagram but will take more kitchen shots after I have time to clean the kitchen. I also painted the sink cabinets a refresher coat of red and I love how it turned out,of course now I need to buy more sage green paint and retouch up the rest of the kitchen.
I also added a decorative liner paper inside the cabinet drawers,I have one more drawer to go!!!!!

Photos
Since spring break came and went I have been very busy painting. One project that was on my mind for months was painting the kitchen cabinets.Since we are having baby Weston's first bday party here at the house I thought there is no time like the present!!!! A party is always motivating for me,LOL!!!!! I am still painting the cabinets and while I am waiting for the paint to dry I thought I would post some photos. I bought some new hardware for the lower cabinets to try out and I really like how they look .This weekend I have to go to Menards and pick more up and have hubby drill some holes in the cabinets.The new bin pulls are bigger than what was there before.I can't wait until this project is done although now I have to paint the rest of the kitchen since it is looking blah!!!! I will paint the kitchen the same sage green since I still love it but it needs a refresher coat. Here are some photos of my work in progress...

Spring Break
This week has been our Spring Break!! Truthfully,we really needed it!! The boys loved staying up late and sleeping in and I planned on getting to my list of projects that I have been putting off. Last summer the boys started painting a room in the basement that Trent wants to use for his room.Well it is exactly 8 months later and I finally bought more paint and painted the finishing touches,lol!!! My other paint project isn't finished but so far I am liking it.I started painting the lower cabinets in the kitchen dark gray .I chose gray because our countertops are a dark gray/ black and I thought a darker color would help hide the dirt.The upper cabinets are a sage green color that I really love.So far I like how it looks but won't know for sure until all the lower cabinets are painted.Also I hope I picked out a dark enough gray since the paint looks lighter than the swatch. We are having baby Weston's first birthday party here at the house so that is motivating me to get the kitchen painted and in order!! I will post photos after I upload them from my phone.Well ,that is all that is new here .Hope everyone is having a great day!!
