Halloween Decorations
I thought i would do a post on our Halloween decorations for this year( before we start to take them down). We mostly decorated our enclosed porch but this year we had driveway gates to add to the mix!!!!!! A few scary spiders made their webs in that spot!!!! Here are some of our spooky photos!!!!!

Homemade Taffy apples!!!!
We made the BEST taffy apples ever!!!!! First we searched everywhere for carmel to buy for this project. We finally found some at Walmart( the kind that comes in little wrapped pieces). My husband had bought some carmel dip so we thought we would mix that in. We gathered our supplies:carmel, apples, popsicle sticks, spinkles, cashews, and candy bars. We first crushed up the candy and nuts and then I preheated carmel in microwave then put the carmel in a crockpot to melt.We combined the two caramels in the crockpot and it turned out the perfect consistency. Now the fun part, dipping the apple and adding whatever you want!!!!!

Can of worms!!!!
A week ago I bought a very cool(electric) wall fireplace to go in our main bathroom. It is soooo cold in there in winter so I bought this to add some heat and also it looks very cool!!!! I asked my husband to add an outlet for the fireplace to plug into. Trent being Trent wanted to add a two by four to the wall to make sure when we mounted the fireplace it would be secure!!!! We have bead board paneling in there ( installed by the previous owner) so hubby proceeds to remove a panel and was shocked at what he saw!!! There was old wiring taped together really badly. We have rewired the whole house but hadn't done the bathroom. So basically he ripped out most of the wall and we had to rewire the bathroom . It was a really stressful job(not to mention messy)This was a family affair .We had one of the boys in the attic with dad and we face timed( using the IPhone) when we needed to communicate . It was three days of work to get this complete, Today I am repainting the walls and cleaning up the mess so we can reinstall the sink. Now the only things left in that bathroom is to re-tile (I want subway tile on two small walls) and add the tin ceiling tile to cover the ugly popcorn ceiling!!!! The whole family joked with me that my little outlet project opened a can of worms.I had texted my hubby the day the fireplace was delivered ....FYI ,I bought a fireplace and it was delivered today!!!! So I also kept hearing jokingly.....FYI,I bought a fireplace today,LOL!!!!!

Kitchen apothecary
So I mentioned I am organizing our house (lately the kitchen) and I was lucky to have been given a huge cubby storage shelf. In its former life it was in some mans garage . A friend of ours bought it at a yard sale and had it in her basement for a long time. She was over and we were talking about my storage (lack of) issue. She mentioned this shelf /cubbie thing and asked if I was interested. Of course I said yes (sight unseen) so when I went to pick it up it was love at first sight!!!!! I knew what I was going to do right away. I went to Hobby Lobby to buy some enamel numbers I spotted there before (I just needed the perfect project for them). This was the project!!!! I wanted an apothecary shelf. I always wanted one . I actually have envisioned one day having an herbal/candle store set up like a vintage apothecary. Once I bought the numbers I came home and started hammering away!!! My husband really likes the shelf better since I added the numbers and could see my "vision" for it in the kitchen. So here it is.....
