Mercury Glass
My new favorite look is that of mercury glass.I have been searching for mercury glass light bulb covers for my bathroom for a while now.I had the idea that mercury glass would look perfect in the bathroom .We will be redoing the whole bathroom soon and I have been searching for my vision to take effect.Well, yesterday I had the idea that I could make my own mercury glass light covers!!!!!! I bought glass covers for the light fixture at Lowes. They were $4.95 a piece. Then I bought a can of Valspar spray paint in silver metal. I have to say the Valspar spray paint didn't smell too bad!!!!! I first sprayed the glass covers with water and then quickly sprayed the silver. I also took a cotton ball to lightly dab at the drip marks. Here are the before and after photos. I really love it!!!! It looks really authentic in person better than the photos!!!!!

Hardware photo
I was so happy yesterday I went to pick up my handles for the french doors and they were 50% off!!!! I love when that happens!!! I started painting the handles for an antique verdigris look. They were originally a wrought iron dark brown color. Here is a look. Also I sanded off some paint and added a little bit of gold.

Hardware
Today I am picking up some cute door handles for our french doors.I found some at Hobby Lobby and only bought two.Today I am off to buy two more!!!!! It is really cold out and am not too excited about braving the cold, LOL!!!! Yesterday, Trent and I had to stack a face cord of wood in our minivan and go home and unload it ( and re-stack it). Then we had to make a second trip because it was too much wood and weight for the minivan. All this at 5:00 at night and below 0 weather!!!! Now it is off to buy groceries and door handles!!!!!

Victorian French Doors
I am in LOVE with how the doors turned out!!! My hubby Trent did a GREAT job!!!!!!! I asked Trent to put up my doors as my X-mas gift. I am beyond happy!!!!! It was a difficult project for us because we had no clue how to put up this track. It also was very heavy to lift and Thank God everything turned out!!!!!! My husband and I both picked out the paint color together for the doors( we didn't want the white). We really wanted the glass on the doors to stand out. The french doors are leaded Victorian style with wavy glass. This was worth waiting for!!!!! Here are the photos.

Progress
Our progress is slow.We ran into a few problems with installing the barn door track. We figured out how to install this thing but needed wood to attach it to .I convinced my hubby to "look" at Lowes for wood and we ended up buying it there. We loaded the minivan and had 12' of wood in the van, since it was a bitter cold day we didn't want to leave the back trunk open ,so when we closed our back trunk door and one of the pieces of wood cracked my windshield. I should have taken this as a sign!!!! I wasn't upset (hubby was) but will have to replace the windshield. I just look a little ghetto driving my van until we replace it. Oh well. So we finally get this thing put together and are ready to install.I call my daughter to come over and help us lift it up on the wall. She brings her boyfriend to help. I was so excited ...... until we all lift the track and it is too long for the wall!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!! Both my husband and I were in shock!!!! It was almost 6 inches to long!!!!! WE both measured together ,I don't know what happened. I think Trent thinks I was bending the tape measure, not sure how that happened. So that is where we are at!!!!! We have to wait until this weekend to cut off the extra and try again. On the bright side,I was able to paint the wood that the track is attached to the same color as the wall. If it was installed first it would have been a pain to paint.
