( Hubby) Trent's Birthday Weekend!!!!

My hubby had his 40th birthday this Friday and we threw him a surprise party! The kids and I planned it and schemed for weeks.It was so stressful but we pulled it off.He had no clue!!!! The kids wanted a Hawaiian theme since we love Hawaii and it is our dream to live there one day.We found very cool decorations at our favorite Dollar Tree store. I was so busy hosting the party that I didn't take to many photos.How does that happen?LOL .I did take some before everyone got here to remember how it looked( before the mess).So here are some photos of our house before the party and a few during.

Project time!!!!!!

So it has been a while since we have done a big house project!!!!!! We are always fixing something but we haven't done nothing major lately.Well ,my hubby ripped out our mini side porch floor.If you read the blog I have written about converting this porch into my dream pantry.It has been on my wish list.My hubby has been against the idea but he is finally warming up to the pantry.Back story to how the floor ended up been ripped apart.We were clearing out old junk and garbage from the yard for a bulk garbage pickup and there were two storm doors on the side porch that Yoshi cracked the glass on(super dangerous so I wanted them removed).So I asked my hubby to just remove the doors and get rid of them.So as I am in the front of the house outside.My son and friend come carrying one of the doors to the trash pile.I am like ,"what's dad doing?" Son Trent says,"dad's making a hole in the porch floor".I am like"what?" Then I go to the back and see the whole floor being ripped out!!!!!! That's how we roll!!!!! I was kind of in shock but happy because that was the first step in my pantry makeover..Yeah!!!!! He just put plyboard down as a temporary floor but it looks so much better.My younger son,Julian was hoping there was gold or money hidden under the porch floor,but no such luck!!!!!!Just a big pile of dirt!!! LOL !!!! Here are some photos……

Fluffing the Nest

Today I am "fluffing the nest"!!!! It is a never-ending job ,lol!!!! The part of cleaning and dusting that I do enjoy is when I am dusting and rearranging my vintage collections. Last year I bought a beautiful three tiered gold colored cake stand (also has blingy goodness attached) from Opulent Treasures.I originally thought I would put it in my dressing room and place make up items on it. My hubby bought me my pink clear cube for makeup for my anniversary present(which I am so in love with)so that went in the dressing room instead.I decided to put the cupcake stand on my night stand and display some of my vintage figures and some perfume bottles,etc.That way I can look at it and appreciate it daily. I get inspired by beauty so today I rearranged some of my smaller perfume bottles and freshened up my other antique figures.I added and subtracted items until I thought it looked good.I loved how it turned out so I thought I would share some photos. Now to dust and fluff the rest of our room.Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!!

Dollar tree haul

Hi , it's been awhile since I have posted.We are so busy right now with our homeschooling and family stuff!!! time is flying by.This is our first week of warm weather ,it has been miserably cold here in Wisconsin.This winter was the worst we have had since we lived here at our home.So glad it is over!!!!!! I have so much outside yard work to do and looking forward to being outside.So my new project is Youtube.I love watching videos and as a school project we made our first video.I am the star (ha ha) my boys set up their camera and did the video editing.It is a hoot.I sound really weird since my sinuses are so blocked up from allergies but what else is new? Spring Cleaning Part 2

So I finally got around to deep cleaning my dressing room. I love my little space that is completely my own!!!! My hubby would say that the whole house is mine but this is the one place no one else can mess up but me!!!!! In winter this room is the coldest spot and this year I found a little space heater /fireplace that is perfect.I noticed that I have spending more and more time in there ,lol. Last year my hubby bought me a pink makeup cube to store my makeup.I have been collecting new items and it is such an awesome storage system.I mostly put my higher end makeup in there and I use my other pink storage drawers for my drugstore makeup. I love all brands Chanel,YSL,Jane Irdale,Loreal and Wet and Wild(to name a few).I don't discriminate.That said it is a challenge to store and organize.So today I went through every drawer and reorganized. I love makeup and I go through phases of wearing it and not wearing it.I finally realized what it is that I love about it.It is a ritual for me ,sacred time to take care of myself.I feel better and feel more put together when I have makeup on.I notice people react different to me when I have it on.Don't get me wrong I still feel beautiful when I am not wearing it.I like how I look naturally.I am lucky to have good skin.I just appreciate the time for myself when I make an effort to 'beautify". I have also love to try new beauty products and I have to say technology just gets better and better.There are so many primers,powders,lotions and potions that I am learning about so it has been fun to experiment.Any way ,back to cleaning.I spent a few hours dusting,wiping,vacuuming and rearranging.Now it is shiny and perfect just how I like it!!!!

Spring Cleaning!!!!!!

So finally I am getting in the mood to spring clean!!!! Where we live it is not spring like weather, but I am feeling the need to deep clean!!!! My bedroom is a catch all for everything from the rest of the house.Especially on Saturdays since we work out of the house that day.I find myself shoving laundry baskets and anything else I want to hide in our room. Not cool but I usually start getting everything out again during the week. Today was the day that I started to clean my side and organize my dresser(the top) and my nightstand.I am a product junkie to say the least!!!! I love beauty products and since I am in the beauty business ,I tend to buy a lot.I also am addicted to youtube and start buying products that have good reviews.Alot of my skin products are also from where my husband works.For valentine's Day hubby gave me Emminence skin care products which I love and also some makeup!!!! He usually has the girls where he works pick them out. Love all my products!!!!! But with that said ,my dresser was starting to feel cluttered. I am lucky to have a separate dressing room(which is connected to our room)so I mostly put my makeup in there.But I noticed that the night time skin care products needed to be closer to me where I can see them or I forget to put them on. I am now at the lovely time in my life that I should put on night cream,eye cream,etc!!!! LOL!!!! I try but I don't always succeed.I also love vintage items which also add to my clutter.As an artist I need to surround myself with beauty(the things that I find pretty).I also like order so as long as I have my things organized I am fine but then life happens and my room starts to feel like chaos. I wiped down my dresser and rearranged my"stuff" and now it feels better.I still have my dressing room to spring clean but that will have to wait until another day.Here are the photos of my room.
