Julian's 8th Birthday

My youngest son was born today eight years ago!!!! So hard to believe he is eight.He will always be our baby!!!!! Julian has been such a blessing to our family!!! Happy Birthday Julian!!!!!

De-cluttering

During the week I have been working on de-cluttering. It helps me feel like the house is getting somewhere.We still have to tape and mud the new dining room so I probably won't be able to paint for a few weeks!!!! I am extremely anxious to get this room together!!!! I have the paint color selected ,the lighting is ready to be hung,a few other items of furniture besides the dining room table are ready to be placed. I feel like I need order in my house already.We still have to tile the bathroom that we added the claw foot tub. At least THAT room is functioning and clean!!!! The rest of the house feels a little cluttered due to the renovation(there are probably tools in almost every room!!!!) BUT,I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel.I looked up THE FLY LADY website.It is a website about cleaning and organizing.It has helpful hints including getting dressed everyday and putting on your shoes even if you are not going anywhere.Basically start looking good to feel good.Today,I am dressed( w/ accessories) and have makeup on!!!! I stay home w/ kids and am usually dressed in workout clothes(sweats) or work on the house clothes(sweats w/paint on them).I used to dress more glamorous back in the day!!!!! One of my goals this year is to look good at all times, not just if I have somewhere special to go.So after we are done with the house I will be buying fashionable clothes again!!! When we are done with the house I WILL have money for new clothes!!!! LOL

New Craigslist Find!!!!

I was searching online for canvas laundry carts.The heavy duty industrial kind. I want to use them to store toys for the kids and then use one for our laundry. I found websites that sold them but they were more than I wanted to pay.Then I thought I would check out Craig's list.I couldn't believe it ,someone was selling some.He wanted fifty a piece.That sounded like a good price but I really wanted two of them and I asked if they could do thirty a piece.He was really cool and said yes!!!! I was so excited and the best part it wasn't too far away.I have been known to drag hubby all over (usually a long drive) to pick up Craig's list items!!! LOL!!! I have them now and I am loving them!!!!! Here are photos of them!!!

What we have been up to!!!!

We are back to work!!!! We opened up the wall completely from the dining room to the tin ceiling room.We were going to put up my french doors between the two rooms.Now we are going to put them up in the kitchen!!!! (That is the original place I wanted them!!!!) We had help with putting up the header.It was huge and heavy so I called my daughter and her boyfriend to help.It was a long day of work. Trent and I have been working on moving electric and cleaning up all the mess.Today I am re-mopping and dusting again!!!!!! Dust is everywhere. It can be overwhelming but I have do just clean one room at a time!!! I keep visualizing the finished room to keep me going!!!!!!

Finishing touches!!!!!

I have been working on finishing some last details from the projects we took on this year.Mostly the kitchen,my hubby added the tin to the side of the copper sink that is exposed and I painted the cabinet edges that showed.The last thing to do is add more tin to the top section where the faucet is.It looks so much better!!!! Also I started a photo project I blogged about in April 2008.Hard to believe I never did it(I did start enlarging the photos but never actually hung them).I finally put up sepia photos that I enlarged on our stairway!!! The xmas photos of the boys inspired me!!!! I am now on a mission to find cool frames.Life sometimes gets in our way of the things we want to do, but I do feel inspired knowing they get done eventually!!!! Tonight we are having a small little New Years Eve party with our younger boys!!! We are cooking sea food and having a bunch of snacks ,very low key but plan on having fun!!! My sweet angels!!!!

My youngest two boys are at a great age!!!I am having fun with them a lot more than when my older two were younger.I am still stressed out a lot but in a different way.I took pictures of them today and they were very cooperative with my styling of the photos!!!! They came out very cute!!! Too bad it is too late to make xmas cards with the photos!!!! LOL!!!!
