Xmas 2012

We had a nice xmas for the most part but hubby and I got sick xmas day w/ the flu and have been miserable!!!!! Instead of brunch and a sit down xmas dinner,we had a very lowkey day.I made a turkey and stuffing but barely made any sides to go with.We basically had it buffet style.The kids didn't mind but I was disappointed that I couldn't have the xmas I expected. I am still recouping but not 100 percent yet.Here are a few more photos from our xmas photo shoot. Hope everyone had a merry xmas!!!!

Holiday photo shoot preview

For the past few years I have been taking holiday photos of the boys.I had an idea for new outfits but the budget wouldn't allow . I remembered some cool shirts they had already and set up our front porch as our place to take the photos. Luckily it wasn't too cold outside .This year we had an addition to our photos,baby Weston.We also went across the street to a beautiful church that I love. I was able to get a few of Weston with the boys . Here is a small preview ofthe shoot.

Victorian sofa

This weekend my blue victorian sofa broke!!!! The frame had been splitting little by little but it literally broke on Sunday night. I am beyond sad.It seems like a little thing but add it to list of items that have broken lately( laptop,dryer) and that one was the last straw!!!.We tried to fix it but the wood kept splitting so out to the curb it went.On the bright side we are glad we didn't spend money to reupholster it and we really used the sofa everyday so we did get our moneys worth.I just really loved the shape and had visions of redoing it.Now I am rethinking about purchasing another antique sofa until we move to a different house that has a family room and a living room. I did find a more modern sofa that is a sectional that will work with our room and budget.Hopefully it will still be at the store when I have the money to purchase it!!!! Also I am thankful that the blue sofa was the one that broke and not the other one that we had spent money reupholstering.

xmas party

We finally went to the xmas party for Trent's work.It was probably the most fun we had at one of his work parties. I loved how my outfit turned out and I especially loved my pink shoes.They were 5 inches high but the heel was a little chunckier so I could walk easily(especially after a cocktail or two). We played a game and I won a leopard coat so I was happy to add it to my collection . I did not take photos at the party(why I don't know) but I had my son take a few before we left.I definately need to invest in a good camera these are just on my phone. I never really like how I turn out!!!!!

I have to add this dress was definitely comfortable to wear the whole night.It was easy to dance in it too.Gotta love that!!!!

Dress Arrival

My outfit arrived!!!!! It definately took longer than I had hoped but Thanksgiving holiday probably slowed the delivery down. My dress looks better than in the photo and fit perfectly. I was worried about that but now I don't have to be!!!! The party is tomorrow and I am excited to put the whole look together!!!!! My color scheme is pink and black. Since I have a pink purse in the same tone as my pink shoes I don't have to worry about buying anything else. I will have Trent take some photos before we leave.Until then,happy Friday!!!!!

Happy birthday

Today is our son Trent's 15th bday!!! He was actually born on Thanksgiving Day !!!!! he is such a blessing to our family. I am really proud of how he is growing up!!! He has such a tender heart especially for his siblings. My dad (grandpa) always says he has never seen brothers as close as Trent and Julian even though there is a 4 year gap. He also is a caring uncle.Today started out with a breakfast outing including their friend Jacob and then we went to the mall for Trent to pick out his presents. We basically went to Gamestop for a bunch of video games. then it was home for a game-a-thon with Jacob and Julian . We found the most delicious Reeses cake to celebrate and end off the day. In Trent's words it was the best day ever!!!!

Xmas party

My hubby has a xmas party at his job and it is around the corner. He didn't give me much notice so I had to find a dress fast ( and one that was budget friendly).Luckily I found one on line at forever 21.It was really affordable so I was able to get shoes and hair accessories as well. Now I am just waiting for it to be delivered and see the final outcome. In the meantime I put together a set from Polyvore with the dress and pink shoes that I picked out. It is a fun way to see how it will all go together. I plan on wearing fishnet stockings and wearing a pink vintage style headband.As for my hair I will have long loose waves. Of course the day of the party I have to work so I won't have too much time to get ready(bummer)!! It has been that way every year so that is why I am planing all the details before.Have a great day!!!!!!
