COUNTING DOWN THE HOURS
My pick up for the wood stove was supposed to be tomorrow but it is now going to be Sunday morning.Hopefully my husband won't be to unhappy ,as that is his day to sleep in.I have been feeling so tired lately and also feel unmotivated to finish my projects.I still have to finish painting one cabinet in the kitchen so I am hoping having the wood stove will help to motivate me!!!!!!!! Right now my life seems to be cleaning the house and cleaning the house and driving the kids.I feel drained and it doesn't help that it seems like 50 degrees outside. On the bright side, I bought more flowers and these two flower pots that I had my eye on for a while. It really helps the outside of our house visually. My husband received a new camera for Father's Day so I will post pictures soon.

Another wood burning stove

I am so happy!!! I have been looking for a wood burning stove for our kitchen for at least 6 months.I mostly have looked on ebay and craigslist.I have bid and emailed so many times and I never got the stove.Well today I finally got one!!!!! I paid for it and now it is ours!!!I have to find a way to pick it up.I am thinking I will ask my neighbor. When we purchased our first stove I wanted it for the kitchen since that is our coldest room in the house. But when we went to pay for it we realized how big the stove was(over 700 lbs) and decided it should go in a central location.Today when we went to look at the stove the only thing on our mind was "how much does this weigh?"
It is definitely smaller than our other stove. I am thinking we will make a platform of bricks for it to stand on .Here is a picture from craigslist.

Let there be light!!!!!
Today was a very beautiful day here in Kenosha.I finally bought flowers for my window boxes and for the front of the house. After gardening and cleaning we decided to go to the beach. It felt so wonderful and peaceful to just lay out on an old vintage tablecloth watching the kids play in the sand.Once we were toasted from the sun we went home.I felt very energized when we got home.I decided to take a hammer and screwdriver
and start opening up our basement window that was boarded shut.Last year we kept seeing bees go behind a small crack in the board so I was a little scared that a swarm of bees was going to attack me.I chipped away for about an hour but finally I did it!!!!!! My husband will be impressed. It was so great to see natural light in my basement. All the windows were boarded up and some have some weird siding over them,So far this is the second window to see the 'light' .I can't believe someone wouldn't want natural light in their basement and keep it creepy dark.Well, we are trying to make our basement more livable so this is a great improvement.

Old Passions
In this world of blogging I have found hidden passions being revived.I am amazed at some of the blogs that I have been fortunate to find and read .My journey started with looking at old house blogs.I have had a love of old house renovation since I was a young girl.It started when I watched "This old house" with my mother. Also, she loved to go to open houses and check out the house even though we were not in the market to buy.
It is funny how I grew to love architecture .As teenager my passion turned to fashion.I started modeling and then "knew" I wanted to become a fashion designer. All my teachers encouraged me to go to school for fashion design. I did go to design school. My life changed when I had my first son at 19 yrs old.Being a young mom and trying to buy my materials was getting to be impossible but I kept on going .I had a daughter when I turned 21 and still was in school. When my daughter was 3 I had an idea to go to cosmetology school and then I could work to buy the supplies I needed for design school.I ended up staying in the hair business because I worked at some of the top salons in Chicago.I trained at Vidal Sassoon and I met my husband there. So I know
the "switch" to hair was meant to be.Through the world of blogging I am seeing all these really talented design blogs and it is awakening my old desire to create some clothing.I hope I have time to sew again. I will start small, now I have 4 kids so time is very limited!!!!! I know one day life will slow down and I can concentrate on "me" again.

Practical magic house

I love this movie"Practical Magic".It has the house I envision for my family minus the spirits!!!!!! I am a very visual person and it helps for me to cut out pictures of things I want to create in my life so when I saw this movie I thought "this is it".I haven't written much about my passion for aromatherapy but I make products that are all natural. This movie also touched on aromatherapy, one of the sisters opens up her own " natural potion store".I have a dream after my children are grown to have an herbal/aromatherapy store.

Gypsy Spirit

I found some photos of inspiration.I guess my style is kind of "gypsy style".I love color and I collect a lot of 'stuff'.It drives my husband crazy.Actually I have stopped collecting due to our house only having so much space.I have a dream of buying a weekend/vacation house.Of course ,it has to be a huge Victorian house with 3 floors. We would also need some acres of land to go with it.I know it will happen.I watch the "secret" movie all the time so I am constantly creating it in my mind.It would be cool to have my own studio in a old barn or in a wagon!!!! I can dream!!!!!!
