Favorite spot

Living in our 100+ year old home as we renovate brings many joys.There is always a new spot to discover !!!! Currently my new favorite is the front porch. This area has become a new haven,a place to relax and dream!!!! I love to sit out there in the early morning drinking my cup of tea and read a book or visit my favorite blogs on my laptop. The swing is so much more comfortable than I could of imagined(hard to believe)!!! Last week I purchased a new hot pink chandelier that I have envisioned for a while.The original website (that I found the pink chandelier)had been sold out for at least a year so I finally decided someone had to also sell it. I found the smaller version of the same chandelier and was so happy to finally buy it. I hung it up myself since this is a plug in one( no electrician needed). Now I can enjoy sitting out there in the evening.

Porch Swing

My new porch swing has arrived!!!!! So happy about that. I didn't open the box yet because the front porch is still a mess!!!! I figured I would have a week to clean it up but my swing came really fast. Tomorrow I will take a peak inside the box and start the cleaning process. Mostly we have big items that need to be taken to the garage.Also baby stuff has accumulated. A car seat, umbrella stroller and of course the never ending work out equipment,Oh yeah and an ice hockey table.It gets overwhelming finding places to put all our stuff. Our house is small compared to newer houses.I appreciate what we have but sometimes I wish we had more room and closets,lol!!!! Front porch

Well, I finally completed painting the front porch!!!!! This was quite an accomplishment.For some
reason this seemed like a difficult task. Now I have painted a lot but this seemed very tedious!!!! I think it was just using the same red as outside so I am tired of looking at it(the outside took a year to complete). I do love the color I painted the ceiling.It is the same blue that I painted the bedroom set in my room. Actually, the ceiling was the hardest part to paint. It is a bead board wood and took a lot of elbow grease to paint the groves. I have a few touch ups but for now it is complete. I am still tweaking the accessories that will be out there.(I want to put up a porch swing) I love how it turned out!!!!!

Recouping

I haven't blogged because I have been recouping from a cold?virus? On our way to north Carolina I felt I was coming down with something and the boys had a cold so we have been miserable!!!!! I thought it was going to be a quick recovery but it has lingered in our house. Today I finally feel better so hopefully I will get better and better!!!!! I put my porch project on hold since it has been cold and rainy here in Wisconsin. I am hoping this weekend will clear up so I can finally get it done!!!!! I hate that it is a part of the house I see everyday and it looks half complete.So let's pray for sunshine!!!!! I still have the vision of my porch swing and want to put it up before it is too cold to even sit on the porch also I want to have it complete to decorate for Halloween. Hope everyone is healthy and happy!!!!!!!

Front porch

I am very slowly painting my front porch. This area has been an eyesore for a few years now!!!!! We store our firewood in the winter here and any furniture I am redoing and working on. I gave our daughter our old bed (which was on the porch) so now that it is gone I can really finish this project!!! My plan is to paint the ceiling,walls and trim and then I will order my porch swing that I have wanted since we bought this house 7 years ago.Also I will paint the floor and buy a cute outside rug . Well, that is the plan...... I do have some anthropology -ish accessories waiting to show you . That is my inspiration for this make over!!!!!

Front porch

I put up the curtains and I love the look and feel they created.Pink has such a pretty glow.It makes me happy when I see a shade I love.Now this porch is by no means complete .The floor needs to be painted and also the ceiling and walls but it is a nice start.See the doors in the photo .Those are my french doors that will going up in the kitchen soon!!!!!!Here is the photo.

Front porch

I have been wanting to decorate our front porch for 6 years now.It has been the spot to put EVERYTHING we do not have a place for any where else.I always clean out and think ,finally I can make it look cute,but then it piles up again. My friend Dawn that gave me the chandelier gave me some pink curtains that she had on her porch.So that is the start of my makeover for  the porch!!!! There aren't enough panels but I am off to hunt some more down,wish me luck!!!!!
